intelligent dogs which are good as field sport dogs or family
pets. Originating from England, they are loveable, intelligent
animals.

Coat and Grooming:
The coat is a smooth
wavy coat which can be golden or cream. Requires regular
grooming and dry shampooing. Golden Retrievers are average
shedders.
Ease of Training:
Golden Retrievers are
intelligent dogs which will learn quickly. Sensitive dogs, they
tend not to respond to well to overly strict training.
Temperament:
Golden Retrievers have
an accommodating temperament and are generally gentle and
well-behaved around children. An excellent family dog, Golden
Retrievers normally get on well with other dogs and children. If
left alone for long periods of time, these dogs can become bored
and mischievous. Most of them love swimming and retrieving
items and enjoy and perform well at obedience competitions.
Health Issues:
Golden Retrievers can
be prone to hip dysplasia and congenital
eye defects. Parents should also be checked for Von Willebrand's
disease and heart problems. Skin allergies can be common in
Golden Retrievers.
Exercise:
Golden Retrievers
require daily exercise and like retrieving balls and other toys.
