Coat:

Afghan Hounds have a long coat which requires rigorous grooming as coat gets easily tangled. Regular bathing is important.

 

Ease of Training:

Afghan hounds are independent dogs which can make them difficult to train.

 

Temperament:

These intelligent dogs can be loyal and affectionate. They are not noisy and are calm indoors. However, outdoors they will by instinct chase anything that moves quickly. Males can try to be dominant.

 

Exercise:

Afghans need regular daily exercise, however remember their instinct to chase anything fast-moving and only let them run free in a safe area.

 

Life Expectancy:
